                   Tim "NCPIERMAN" Taramelli

Born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, I learned to fish from my dad, Thomas A.Taramelli Sr. We fished for calico bass, smallmouth and largemouth bass as well as trout - rainbows and browns with the occasional brookie in the mix.
I moved to North Carolina in 2001 and although saltwater fishing was a huge shock to me I spent countless hours learning my new environment and all it had to offer in the way of red drum, flounder and trout as well as other saltwater fish. I have landed
four bull drum over 40 inches and earned a flounder citation at 8.13 pounds. I fish in the Jacksonville, Hubert and Swansboro areas the most, targeting red drum, speckled trout and flounder.

Queens Creek is my all time favorite creek to fish with Bear Creek coming in second - both have gifted me with hundreds of fish with both giving my personal best red drum from a creek at 35 inches.

I also love to fish for what are known as ROUGH fish which are swamp muskies (a.k.a. bowfin) and the longnosed gar. I always say there is nothing like hooking into a 40+ inch longnose gar and having it “tail walk” right next to your kayak. Bowfin and gar
are very plentiful in the areas I fish. When the weather is right, catching 20 fish a day is as easy as buying apple pie!

On May 18th, 2013 during the first Armed Forces Day Paddle Fishing Tournament I served as the very first angler to ever be sponsored by Airborne Anglers Adventures and placed first in the freshwater division.

I have dedicated hundreds of hours of volunteer work to our veterans and I am a
well known member of Heroes on the Water (HOW), a kayak fishing organization that supports our wounded warriors.
